Baltimore, Maryland is a city just large enough to be filled with vast crime-ridden ghettos, but too small to be of any importance to anyone outside its tiny state. After suffering from its reputation as the murder capital of America during the run of the TV drama Homicide: Life on the Street, the city's image improved after some pioneering househunters realized it would make a nice suburb of Washington, DC, then collapsed again after the premiere of The Wire.

It is somehow the home of most of Johns Hopkins University.
