The Doctor of Engineering Science (Eng.Sc.D.) is the highest degree awarded by the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. This degree requires additional coursework beyond the MS in addition to significant research and the completion of a doctoral project and thesis.

The degree is not a PhD, which is only awarded by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. However, the Eng.Sc.D. is considered to be at a similar level, and recipients are still styled doctor upon conferral of the degree. The Eng.Sc.D. has identical academic requirements as the PhD[1].
