He was chased to the Hudson River by an angry mob intent on tarring and feathering him, where sulked around the docks for a night before boarding the H.M.S. Kingfisher the next day. Ironically, Alexander Hamilton assisted in his escape by filibustering said angry mob. Myles Cooper was succeeded by Benjamin Moore.
