Andrew Dolkart MS (Arch) '77 the director of the historic preservation program at GSAPP, where he earned his masters in the subject after abandoning doctoral studies in art history. He is the second person to be awarded tenure in the position, which he achieved in 2009. Dolkart has written extensively on the architectural history of Morningside Heights and the Columbia campus, and has served on the New York City Landmarks Commission.
