Koronet Pizza
Koronet Pizza or just Koronets is a legendary local pizza parlor on Broadway at 110th St.
Koronets mainly doles out oversize "jumbo" slices for $3.00. The pizza has an inoffensive, even tasteless tomato sauce and crispy-on-the-outside-chewy-on-the-inside crust. There is so much grease that a slice can melt its way through a brown bag and slither onto the floor. Some people find it delicious. Others think it's just gross.
Koronets is open from 10am to 3am every day, making it the perfect antidote to a beer-filled stomach. The cheese is particularly effective at absorbing alcohol.However, besides its drunk-food purposes, it is ultimately just a big slice of pizza. If you're looking for a truly good-tasting slice, you'd best trek a few more blocks down Broadway to Sal and Carmine Pizza.
