Seth Anziska CC '06 GSAS graduated cum laude and with History Department honors. His thesis, "Crystallization of a Conflict: The United States, Israel and the Palestinians, 1976-1980," was awarded the Chanler Historical Prize and the Alan J. Willen Memorial Prize, and subsequently served as a model for history students, noted in particular for its use of oral history techniques.

He earned an M.Phil. in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from St. Antony's College, Oxford, in 2008, and returned to Columbia to pursue his Ph.D. in International and Global History. A Wexner Graduate Fellow in Jewish Studies, Seth focuses on the Arab-Israeli conflict, U.S. foreign relations, and modern Jewish history. During the summer of 2009, he was an NSEP Boren Fellow in Beirut, Lebanon, conducting pre-dissertation research on American intervention in the Middle East during the late Cold War.
