Symposium is a fairly good Greek restaurant on 113th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue. It's owned by the same family as the Hungarian Pastry Shop.

The food at Symposium is reasonably good. Make sure to try the sangria (chilled, sugary wine in a big carafe). For the extra hungry, get the peasant salad or the exohiko (a lamb-and-vegetable stuffed casserole). Also, it apparently serves good strong unfiltered coffee.

The waiters are friendly, and the atmosphere is great for groups. On Tuesday nights, Symposium offers a 20% discount for students.

On the downside, Symposium seems to suffer from ant and cockroach infestations.
