The Columbia Japan Society (CJS) is the Japanese cultural group on campus. It is a recognized student group under the Activities Board at Columbia. Membership is open to students from any undergraduate school.

Events

CJS is known for several events over the course of the year:

  • Matsuri, the group's annual culture show on Low Plaza
  • Sushi Night, all-you-can-eat sushi prepared by CJS members
  • Curry in a Hurry, all-you-can-eat curry prepared by CJS members and members from other cultural clubs

The group also sponsors several Japanese movie screenings and outings to Japanese cultural events in the city.
