I really tried hard with Ajanta, as I live around the corner (far from the real places) and I'm a big fan of Indian/Pakistani food. I gave it three tries over the past two months, each time with something totally different off the menu and each time the same result: absolutely horrible. Sure, it's edible, but name a Indian food restaurant in New York City (or anywhere else in the country) that serves worse food...<br />

Reviews on the Internet are entirely too kind. The food here is barely edible. It is, hands down, the worst Indian restaurant in Morningside, if not the whole universe. (Yes, it really is that bad.) If you're ever interested in trying the worst Indian food you'll ever eat, just for the sake of having the experience, give it a shot. Otherwise you may want to consider some real Indian joints like [[Indian Cafe]].<br />
