By the way, it should be pointed out (I just noticed at [[Commencement]]) that the tune to "Stand Columbia" is the same as Haydn's Emperor Waltz- aka, the melody that was used for "Deutschland ueber alles". Perhaps the most lovely of all Columbia songs is the Alma Mater written by Edward MacDowell, the American composer who was a member of the Columbia faculty from 1896-1904.
