'''First Friday''' is a monthly dance/party organized by the [[Columbia Queer Alliance]] in [[Lerner Party Space]]. The dance is known for bringing in students from both Columbia and [[NYU]] on the first Friday of each month during the academic year. The event is typically a dance with alcohol, but has been known to feature performances, drag shows, and appearances by other student groups.

In 2009, CQA attempted to have First Friday recognized as its own student group by [[ABC]], as it is somewhat independent from the larger CQA group. However, the request was denied and CQA continues to fund and operate First Friday as of 2011.
