The grade point average is a number calculated by multiplying your numerical grade (0-4.33) in a class by the point value of that class, and then dividing the sum of these products by the total number of points taken. Grades of "Pass" do not count in the GPA.

You need at least a 2.0 to be in good academic standing. If your GPA is below 2.0, you will be placed on [[Academic Probation]].

Any GPA below 3.0 is generally cause for concern, and probably means that you are an engineer, or you need to take easier classes.

You can help your GPA by reading [http://www.culpa.info CULPA] before registering for classes. Make sure all of your [[Core]] classes have easy professors. That translates to at least 36 points of easy As.
