The '''School of the Arts Building''' was planned as a dramatic expansion of [[Prentis Hall]] to accommodate a new home for the [[School of the Arts]], which was cramped in [[Dodge Hall]]. The architects of the plan were Sharples, Holden, Pasquarelli (SHoP), disciples of [[Lerner Hall]] architect and former [[GSAPP]] dean [[Bernard Tschumi]]. It would have involved hollowing out Prentis and building a sort of [[w:Frank Gehry|Frank Gehry-esque]] blob inside the block behind it. The main entrance would have been on [[Riverside Drive]].

The project has most likely been dropped with the revelation that the School of the Arts will get a new building on the [[Manhattanville campus]], but plans to somehow expand Prentis Hall remain on the drawing board.
