'''Vi Kyuin Wellington Koo''' [[Columbia College|CC]] [[1909]] [[PhD]] [[1912]] was a Chinese politician and diplomat. He represented China at the Paris Peace Conference in [[1919]], later served as ambassador to the United States and France, and was even briefly President of China, from 1926-7. Allied to the Kuomintang, he retreated to Taiwan after the Communist takeover, retired from the foreign service, and returned to [[New York City]] for the last twenty years of his life.

At Columbia, Koo honed his debate skills as a member of the [[Philolexian Society]]. He earned his PhD in "law and diplomacy".
