The African Students Association is the campus group for African culture. The group is a recognized student group under the Activities Board at Columbia. This group is a distinct group from the Black Students Organization, as it focuses strictly on students of African descent, as opposed to the larger Black Students Organization, whose focus also includes African-American students among many others.
