Barry served as co-president, vice president, director of outreach and treasurer for [[Everyone Allied Against Homophobia]]. He was a student representative on the [[Committee on the Core Curriculum]]. He volunteered as a peer advocate for the [[Gay Health Advocacy Project]].
 
 
 
Barry was associate editor and treasurer for the [[Columbia East Asian Review]]. He served coordinator of the [[Columbia Anti-Violence Coalition]], as well as Lead Activist for the [[Columbia College Democrats]]. He was a member of [[Columbia Water Polo]] when they played first All-Ivy Water Polo tournament.
