Bistro 1018 is an upscale bistro on Amsterdam Avenue at 110th St. Not surprisingly, it's pretty expensive too, so people generally go there with visiting parents/relatives. The food is well-conceived and delicious, the wine list is well-selected, and the service is well above average. However, sometimes the food can be a little uneven.

According to New York Magazine, "backlit wine racks and dark wood make for a casual upscale vibe at this New American café. Settle near the windows for a view of St. John’s Gothic spires and discuss tenure over sherry-infused lobster bisque, heart-healthy salmon burgers with parsnip-apple slaw, and the scrumptious fruit crisp."
