Civil engineering (major)

The civil engineering major is filled with hardworking and kind students. Students take classes in civil engineering and engineering mechanics, with some classes shared with Earth and Environmental Engineering. Undergraduate students have the option to concentrate in Structural/Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or Water Resources/Environmental Engineering, with most students choosing Structural or Construction Management. Masters students concentrate in Computational and Data-Driven Engineering Mechanics, Construction Engineering and Management, Engineering Mechanics, Environmental Engineering and Water Resources, Forensic Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, and Structural Engineering. The major is associated with a highly active ASCE chapter on campus.
