The Plaza. Saks. Bergdorf's. Rockefeller Center. St. Patrick's Cathedral. The host of many parades, the pilgrimage site of many a tourist, Fifth Avenue in Midtown is avoided by many a Columbia student, at least after experiencing his or her first Christmas shopping season being shoved off the sidewalk by the insane crowds.
