Joel Klein CC '67 is Chancellor of New York City Department of Education. In this role, he was responsible for pressuring history professor Rashid Khalidi out of the NYC public school system.

He won a John Jay Award in 2002. He will also be the speaker at 2008's Columbia College Class Day.
