Laura Durkay

Laura Durkay CC '04 was president of the Columbia International Socialist Organization and author of a crazy, rant-filled Spectator column, "The Socialist Alternative". Ironically, she went on to work for D. E. Shaw, the top quant-based trading shop on Wall Street, from 2005-2008. She later pursued a Master of Fine Arts in screenwriting at the University of Southern California and runs the blog Laura on the Left Coast.
