Michael Massimino '84SEAS is a NASA astronaut, engineering professor, and all-around rockstar of SEAS. As an astronaut, he led missions to repair the Hubble Space Telescope and proved that some Columbia engineers do go on to do to science-stuff sometimes. He now teaches at Rice University in Texas. He was awarded the Egleston Medal in 2011 for his contributions to the field.
