Philolexian Prize

The Philolexian Prize is an award for fiction, essays, memoirs, poetry, plays, film scripts, or translations of literature written by an undergraduate in Columbia College. Originating in a series of prizes awarded by the Philolexian Society in Oratory, Debate, and Essay beginning in 1852, it has been given by the English Department since the 1950s.

Submission guidelines

Submission may include work in any one or more of these genres, but is limited to one work in each genre, except poetry, where the limit is 5 poems; prose submissions are not to exceed 35 pages.
