Red Auerbach is an NBA legend who attended Seth Low Junior College from 1937 to 1939. He moved on to George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he was a stand-out basketball player. He graduated from GW in 1941.

Auerbach revolutionized the basketball world. In his first year as coach of the Celtics, in 1950 he drafted the NBA's first African-American player, Chuck Cooper. He also introduced a style of play that emphasized teamwork over individual capabilities. He eventually served the Boston Celtics for 29 years, and won a record 16 NBA titles in that span: nine Titles as coach, seven Titles as general manager and team president.
