The Ruggles murder-suicide incident refers to the February 5, 2000 murder of CC student Kathleen Roskot in Ruggles Hall by Thomas Nelford. Nelford subsequently killed himself by throwing himself in front of a train at the 181st St. subway station.
Suffice to say, Ruggles Suite 509, where the murder took place, is unpopular in Room Selection.
