Salutatorian
The Columbia College Salutatorian, judged to be the second most worthy degree candidate in his or her respective graduating class by GPA and other measures, gives the speech at Class Day, rather than the Valedictorian. A possible explanation for this may be that often the Valedictorian is just too much of a nerd.
