Sigma Alpha Epsilon was an IGC-recognized fraternity. It was recognized in the spring of 2012. It's the frat that, outside of Columbia, gained infamy at Cornell for its "vomlets," a stigma the Columbia chapter is attempting to distance themselves from. The first pledge class rushed in early spring semester 2013. SAE at Columbia is known to have an overwhelming amount of international students and their activities are typically bougie.

In December of 2013, the Lion reported that the fraternity's charter had been revoked by Student Affairs [1].
