Students for a Democratic Society

The Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) was a radical protest group active on many college campuses, including Columbia, during the 1960s. It played a major role in fomenting the 1968 protests.

It was reactivated in Spring of 2007 with the support of 60s chairman Mark Rudd.
