The University of Cambridge (also known as Cambridge University or simply Cambridge) is a British university. Along with the University of Oxford, it is one of the two most elite universities in the UK, referred to collectively as "Oxbridge".

Although many Americans consider Oxford to be the superior institution, most in Britain and Europe as a whole regard Cambridge more highly. It is especially proficient in history and in the sciences.

Columbia has an agreement with both universities allowing qualified students to spend their junior year studying there.
