The University of Cambridge (alt: Cambridge University or simply Cambridge) is, along with Oxford, one of the most elite universities in Britain. Together, Oxford and Cambridge are known as "Oxbridge". Although many Americans consider Oxford the superior university, the perception is reversed on the other side of the pond.
