CU Bellydance is a group of students dedicated to sharing and exploring the art of Middle Eastern dance. Founded in 2007, the club performs traditional Egyptian, Turkish, American Cabaret, and Tribal Fusion styles.

Performance Troupe

The CU Bellydance performance troupe is an audition-only dance troupe that performs regularly both on and off campus. The troupe has collaborated with such respected dance artists as Kaeshi Chai, Hannah Nour, Ranya Renee, Darshan, and Tarik Sultan, and is the host of the annual Inter-collegiate Middle Eastern Dance Conference, which brings together college bellydance troupes from around the North East region for a weekend of dance instruction and performance.

CU Bellydance offers weekly bellydance classes open to all Columbia University students and staff. Classes are held in Lerner Hall, room E477. Please email or see CUBD's Facebook page for the most current class schedule.
