The Columbia Minecraft Club strives to foster a community for Columbia University students who play Minecraft. Founded by a group of friends playing the game together casually, this eventually evolved into regular meetings, in person, beginning in the Fall of 2019. The Columbia Minecraft Club was founded in the Summer of 2019. Since its creation, the club members have hosted weekly general body meetings alongside other special events. These special events include server launches, Minecon Live, skin design contests, building competitions, Bedwars Game Nights, and yearly anniversary celebrations. The group was officially recognized in the Spring of 2022 by the Activities Board at Columbia.
