The Eye is the weekly magazine of Spec. So-named for urbanologist Jane Jacobs' term "eyes on the street," as it supposedly ties together "Columbia and the City".
Founded in 2006 by Tim Shenk, Julia Israel, and others, it published many controversially reported articles and highly criticized humor pieces in its first year.
The magazine contains both features and arts sections, the latter being staffed by the arts staff of the Columbia Spectator.
