Eric Holder CC '73 Law '76 is Barack Obama's nominee for Attorney General.

Holder is a Columbia trustee who served as Deputy Attorney General under President Clinton. Holder later served on Obama's vice presidential search committee. If appointed, Holder would be the first African-American AG, and would succeed another CC alum, Michael Mukasey.

He later chose to major in American history and spent weekends taking underprivileged neighborhood children to cosmopolitan New York attractions.
