The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is your first contact with the Columbia bureaucracy, as it oversees admissions for both Columbia College and the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science. In 2012, Dean Valentini took control over Financial Aid and Admissions from Kevin Shollenberger as part of an internal play to further strengthen and empower the office of the dean. Previously, Financial Aid and Admissions were separate sub departments within Student Affairs. This fulfilled one of Valentini's goals when he was made permanent dean. [1]
