Pisticci is an Italian restaurant on La Salle St between Broadway and Claremont Avenue. It's commonly thought to be the best Italian restaurant in the neighborhood. However, Pisticci is probably the most out-of-the-way restaurant that might still be considered within Morningside Heights.

The interior is homey and romantic, yet retains a stylishly modern feel. In summer, there's a terrace on the sidewalk of 123rd St, a peaceful setting compared to the numerous terraces on Broadway and Amsterdam.

The authentic fare is delightfully delicious, from perfect eggplant parmigiana to assorted pasta selections to fabulous desserts like berries with freshly whipped cream. Apparently the tiramisu is a "local legend". And the restaurant has a great wine selection. The whole Pisticci experience is slightly more upmarket than Sezz Medi or Max SoHa, but prices are fairly comparable.
