Wallace S. Broecker CC '53 PhD '75 (better known was "Wally") is the Newberry Professor of Earth & Environmental Sciences. He has been on the Columbia faculty since 1959, and works with the Earth Institute and Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. Most undergraduates get to know him in Frontiers of Science.
