Benjamin Moore King's College 1768 was president of Columbia College from 1801 to 1810. He had also served as acting president of King's College during the first year of the Revolutionary War. Moore was the first president of the school to have actually been educated there.
Moore was the second bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Writer and Columbia literature professor Clement Clarke Moore was his son, and another college president, Nathaniel Fish Moore, was his nephew.
He is not to be confused with Benjamin Moore, the paint.
