The Nicholas Murray Butler Medals are awarded every five years to individuals anywhere in the world who have made a distinguished contribution in philosophy or educational theory, practice or administration. The medals are either Gold, Silver, or Bronze.

They are named for domineering former University President Nicholas Murray Butler.

Past Recipients
