The University Lecture is a semi-annual address organized by University Programs and Events, a branch of the Office of the President. Established in 1971, the lectures are delivered by renowned members of the Columbia University faculty, "celebrating his or her work and academic achievements." The lecture provide a platform for an exploration on a topic of the speaker’s choice.
