This page addresses Columbia's amazing Chinese language program as well as resources for students from and/or interested in China, Chinese culture, or the Chinese language.
Contents
Chinese language program (东亚语言文化系中文部)
Chinese at Colubia is taught under the aegis of the EALAC department. The faculty has occasionally been marred by disputes between those affiliated with Taiwan vs. those affiliated with mainland China.
Chinese organisations
AAA
The Asian American Alliance is a pan-Asian student-interest group that is politically active in stuff like multiculturalism and diversity and affirmative action. They endorsed the 2007 hunger strike.
Disclaimer: Some of the organisations listed here may not be "Chinese", depending on which side of the diplomatic / political table you sit. In the interests of inclusion, they are provided, though neither WikiCU nor the author holds any position as to whether Taiwan is considered "Chinese" or not.

The Hong Kong Students and Scholars Society is an organisation dedicated to supporting Hong Kong students at Columbia. Though students need not have any affiliation whatsoever with Hong Kong to join. They are responsible for holding Columbia's annual Big-2 Tournament.

TC Chinese Student Club
The TC Chinese Student Club was originally established in 1913. How it was evolving is unknown to the current board. It's name has been changed to TCCSSA in 2007, and will be changed back to TC Chinese Student Club in 2012. Acronym "TCCSB" is not preferred.
