Homeless people are an everyday sight in Manhattan. Many of these unfortunates can be found in Morningside Heights, especially:
- sleeping outside the Broadway Presbyterian Church
- working in the aforementioned church's Thursday burrito shop
- begging outside Morton Williams
- making grandiose speeches about their misery in the subway
