The John Jay Awards have been presented to members of the Columbia College family for distinguished professional achievement since 1979. Hosted by the Columbia College Alumni Association. Traditionally, the award only went to a Columbia College graduate. In 2004, Columbia parent and major donor Peter Kalikow was announced as the first non-alumni honoree.
